„Over the Event Horizont“ ist eine Installation auf dem ehemaligenMFG5 Gelände in Kiel, einem historischen Marineluftwaffenstützpunkt, der derzeit umgenutzt wird und vorübergehend als Unterkunft für Geflüchtete dient. Die Ausstellung reflektiert die Geschichte und Architektur der Bunker, die trotz ihrer massiven Präsenz sowohl Unsichtbarkeit als auch Schutz symbolisieren.

 Der Titel „Over the Event Horizont“ verwendet das physikalische Konzept des Ereignishorizonts als Metapher für die Verbindung verschiedener Zeitlinien und Menschen. Wie der Ereignishorizont in der Astrophysik eine Grenze darstellt, an der Raum und Zeit verschmelzen, zielt die Ausstellung darauf ab, solche Grenzen auf dem MFG5-Gelände zu überwinden.

 Basierend auf dieser Idee wurde eine Klanginstallation sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb des Bunkers geschaffen, die die Besuchenden dazu einlädt, an der Neugestaltung dieser geschichtsträchtigen Umgebung mitzuwirken.



"Over the Event Horizon" is an Installation held at the former MFG5 site in Kiel, a historic naval air station that is now a redevelopment area and a temporary home for refugees. This exhibition reflects on the history and architecture of the often underestimated bunkers which, despite their massive existence, symbolize not only invisibility, but also protection. The title “Over the Event Horizon” adopts the physical concept of the Event Horizon as a metaphor, for the interactive communication among diverse time lines as well as broad spectrum of people there. Similar to how the Event Horizon in astrophysics describes a boundary where different dimensions of space and time integrate, the exhibition aims to overcome these boundaries in the MFG5 site. Based on this idea, sound installation was established both inside and outside of bunker, and consequently promoting visitors to participate in the redesign of a historically burdened environment.
