Angesichts gesellschaftlicher Herausforderungen wie sozialer Ungleichheit, Klimakrise, Desinformation und Kommerzialisierung beschäftigt sich das Seminar mit der Frage, wie Gestaltung parteiisch sein kann. Inspiriert von Donna Haraways „Staying with the trouble“ betrachten wir Akteur*innen, die durch räumliche Praxis lokal wirken, um soziale oder ökologische Impulse zu setzen. Im Fokus steht die Mitgestaltung urbaner Räume. Exkursionen führten uns u. a. zum Haus der Statistik, Haus der Materialisierung und zur Mitkunstzentrale in Berlin. Dort lernten wir Ansätze kooperativer Stadtentwicklung kennen. Diese werfen Fragen nach persönlicher Haltung auf: Wofür wärst du parteiisch? Gibt es einen Ort in Kiel, mit dem du dich verbinden möchtest? Das Zine versammelt Ideen aus dem WS 24/25 – als Anstoß für alle, die sich fragen: Wie wollen wir unsere Zukunft in Kiel mitgestalten?

In the face of social challenges such as social inequality, the climate crisis, disinformation and commercialisation, the seminar deals with the question of how design can be partisan. Inspired by Donna Haraway's ‘Staying with the trouble’, we look at actors who work locally through spatial practice to set social or ecological impulses. The focus is on the co-design of urban spaces. Excursions took us to the Haus der Statistik, Haus der Materialisierung and Mitkunstzentrale in Berlin, among others. There we learnt about approaches to cooperative urban development. These raise questions about personal attitudes: What would you be partial to? Is there a place in Kiel that you would like to connect with? The zine collects ideas from the WS 24/25 - as an impulse for all those who ask themselves: How do we want to help shape our future in Kiel?
