Kristallin und amorph – zwei Zustände von Materie: Der eine geprägt von Ordnung und Struktur, der andere von scheinbarer Unordnung. Doch auch Kristalle sind nicht perfekt, und amorphe Substanzen folgen bestimmten Regeln. Beide Zustände sind wandelbar – physikalisch und im übertragenen Sinn: als Metaphern für Ideen, Erfahrungen und Systeme. In dieser Ausstellung erforschten wir diese Zustände durch wissenschaftliche und ästhetische Ansätze. Indem wir sie neu interpretieren, schufen wir eine formale Sprache, die es Ideen ermöglicht, auf neue Weise Gestalt anzunehmen und zu kristallisieren. Das Projekt entstand aus einer gemeinsamen Faszination für Strukturen. Die Zusammenarbeit erstreckte sich über mehr als 2.000 km zwischen Sofia, Bulgarien, und Kiel, Deutschland. Theorien wurden diskutiert, Ergebnisse ausgetauscht und konkrete Designs über Videokonferenzen entwickelt. Gedanken wanderten hin und her, ebenso wie Designs und Materialien.

Crystalline and amorphous – two states of matter: one characterized by order and structure, the other by apparent disorder. Yet even crystals are imperfect, and amorphous substances follow certain rules. Both states are changeable – physically and figuratively: as metaphors for ideas, experiences, and systems. In this exhibition, we explored these states through scientific and aesthetic approaches. By reinterpreting them, we created a formal language that allows ideas to take shape and crystallize in new ways. The project arose from a shared fascination with structures. The collaboration spanned more than 2,000 km between Sofia, Bulgaria, and Kiel, Germany. Theories were discussed, results shared, and concrete designs developed via video conferences.
